Android 15’s 2024 Features: Audio Sharing, Satellite Messages, and Offline Device Tracking

For smartphone users, the Android 15 QPR beta offers more perks. Later in the year, big changes are anticipated. The next Android version, Android 15, will be unveiled at Google I/O 2024, which is scheduled for May 14. However, most of us won’t have to wait that long to find out what Android 15 has in store because the QPR 2 developer version is currently available if you like experimenting with unfinished and unstable Android flavors.

Satellite communications technology has been available for iPhones for a few years now, and this year, with Android 15, Google is prepared to promote its own technology. What further new features may Android users anticipate with Android 15? Here is a brief summary of what has been found so far.

Anticipated Features for Android 15 This Year: Audio Sharing
We’ve previously seen hints of this capability in the developer version of Android 15, which essentially implies that if you obtain a phone running Android 15, you can share music with several headphones. By linking them with another device that is Auracast compatible, you can stream music using Bluetooth Low Energy.

Turning off the phone activates the Keep Find Device feature.
Yes, even when the phone or tablet is off, Google is now allowing the Find My Device functionality to function. The new Powered Off Finding API in Android 15 makes this possible by enabling constant device connectivity to the Find My Network. In order to intercept these offline devices, Google will enlist the aid of Bluetooth beacons. This will need hardware support in addition to working on Android 15. Later in the year, the Pixel 8 and 9 models may be the first to get it.

PERSONAL AREA FOR APPS
Google’s default interface may be used as a private area for programs and even data that you designate as confidential and want to keep hidden from prying eyes on your phone. It’s probable that Android 15 will have a biometric lock so you won’t need to use a different software to keep the data and applications safe in this area.

SMS SATELLITES ON ANDROID
Google may eventually provide satellite communications technology to Android users with Android 15. While there have been hints of the technology arriving for Android since last year, 2024 may see the complete integration of Android with the emergency-focused call and messaging network. More information on this will probably be revealed at I/O 2024 in May, when the Pixel 9 series will probably launch the service.

These are just a few of the features that Android 15 is anticipated to have this year; many more are anticipated to be introduced in the next few months.
